Participatory Approach
In the summer of 2007, consultations with stakeholders from the City of Montréal, the Sud-Ouest Borough and local community and business groups defined the first steps in CLC’s development process. This initial effort produced a preliminary work plan, which will form the basis for the official plan.
In the fall of 2007, CLC set up a follow-up committee, consisting of representatives from CLC, the Sud-Ouest borough, Central Montréal and the neighbourhood has been created. This committee is mandated to guide the consultative process with the aim of developing an overall project plan. The committee meets regularly and plays a crucial role in this participatory approach.
The success of the project also depends on the wider participation of the local community. Different consultation activities have taken place or are planned to enable the public to view preliminary plan and provide comments and suggestions.
