The preliminary plan to develop Les Bassins du Nouveau Havre is the result of 18 months of planning and consultation with representatives of:

• the City of Montréal,
• the Sud-Ouest Borough
• local community groups and
• the greater Montréal region.

Through discussion and cooperation, these groups helped to define a vision for the site. Developed by Groupe Cardinal Hardy in collaboration with L'OEUF, the proposed official plan encompasses one million square feet of land, which will predominantly be housing. The redevelopment of Les Bassins reflects the goals of the City of Montréal’s initiative, Pour grandir à Montréal, which is to create an ideal environment for family life within the city core.
