Project Development Steps
Key development steps in the Les Bassins redevelopment are as follows:
- April 2007 – Acquisition of the site by CLC
- Summer 2007-Fall 2008 – CLC Planning and Participatory Process
- December 2008 - Submission of the proposed plan to the Sud-Ouest Borough:
- Winter–Spring 2009 - Municipal Process
- 2009-2010 – Site Preparation for redevelopment
The site must undergo a series of preparatory activities before development can begin.
Preparing the site for redevelopment will consist of:
1. Deconstruction
This former postal distribution centre will be deconstructed and a considerable amount of the building materials will be sorted for re-use or recycling.2. Soil Remediation
CLC, along with site developers, will remediate the soil to levels required by government regulations for the intended uses.3. New Road
Basin Street will be reconnected from east/west and is the only new road on the property.
